Over "Sitedeals15 released"**

Texts in English would add the possibility of conjugations or declinations of the words: releases (plural) or release (infinitive). Google does some stemming in English, but probably not in Dutch. It is unclear what to do with a word that is just a proper noun: an acronym sitedeals15 could help.

Direct-link versions of Digg feeds

I participated with this page in a Dutch SEO contest, and optimised it for the keywords “Sitedeals15 released”, originally with the content you find in the Sidebar. Later on, I put the text of that Digg posting on this page*, serving as link bait - not really a good idea though since English-language text and inbound links don’t really help if you’re optimising for a localised version of a Google query :-). I got on top for English-version of the same query, but that was’t that hard, since there was less competition… You can read how the game proceeded in the comments of another posting.

*(note that the page is set up in such a way that the sidebar text still is most prominent if you view the page without css, as search engines do…)

Not sure how I feel about allowing a trackback to a SEO contest blog entry, being that I don’t put rel nofollow on trackback url, but you tossed in a link to SWiK so I’ll allow it :)

[...] That’s why I made these “Linklog” Feeds, with direct links to the top stories, but still containing the link to the Digg Page in the RSS item description so can still go comment or Digg immediately as well. (Digg this list or bookmark it for further reference) [...]
